  40.      MultiVol(TM) Mirror makes a copy of or "mirrors" a file to one
  41.      or more volumes as the file is being written the master
  42.      volume. Any "file" that can be opened for writing can be
  43.      mirrored, including the console/shell (input is also
  44.      mirrored). Normally, you would map one master volume (e.g., a
  45.      disk) to one mirror volume (or directory on the same volume).
  46.      The full path to a real file is constructed on the mirrored
  47.      volume(s), as well as file comments and protection.
  48.  
  49.      All you need to do is set up the mapping of master volume to
  50.      mirror volume -- you can use MVM's drag and drop graphical
  51.      user interface to do this -- and use MVM: before the name of
  52.      the file to mirror (or in a file requester).  It's that easy.

  54.      Using MultiVol Mirror (MVM), you can:
  55.  
  56.      * partially recover from accidentally overwriting a file
  57.        (getting back an earlier version)
  58.  
  59.      * completely recover from deleting a master file and disk
  60.        failures, to the extent MVM was used
  61.  
  62.      * automatically backup any file every time the file is written
  63.  
  64.      * transparently record shell or console input and output
  65.  
  66.      * safely use RAM as a fast disk
  67.  
  68.        With RAM specified as the master volume and your hard drive
  69.        or diskette as the mirrored volume, you can edit a file in
  70.        RAM, benefitting from fast loads of the file.  When you save
  71.        it, it is placed both in RAM and on the hard drive/diskette
  72.        automatically.
